DAUGHTER WAS BEST is the story of how some people adjust to the liberated moral standards within the family unit. Beset by such common problems as divorce, jealousy, age differences, and unfaithfulness, the characters in this story find an unusual solution to their dilemma. Their method may well be considered unusual or shocking, but is nonetheless successful.

DAUGHTER WAS BEST — a novel of fiction for entertainment. A reminder that what is debased and perverted for some may be normal for others.

Fran Warner was filing her nails as she stood behind the counter in the small grocery store. It was a quiet morning with the kids in school and her husband out making the daily deliveries.

Fran was an attractive blonde of twenty-three and was married to the store owner who was twenty years her senior. The girl had married Tom Warner shortly after she met him two years ago. They had met when she came into his store, and the older man, who was a widower with two kids, was instantly attracted by the beautiful girl’s youthfulness.

Fran was the daughter of the town drunk, and since her early teens she’d had absolutely no supervision — and was being laid by every young man in town. Hating to spend her evenings in their crummy shack with her drunken father, she spent them in the back seats of the local boy’s cars where she received a thorough education in sex. As time passed, her young lovers took the nice girls of the town as their wives. At twenty-one, and with a reputation as the town slut, all the eligible men were married, leaving her desperate for a husband. That’s when she’d met the widowed storekeeper and immediately set out to catch him.

Because of her sensuality and experience, she had no trouble wrapping the lonely older man around her finger. Tom Warner had led a spartan life with his kids since his wife died several years ago, and when Fran managed to seduce him, he begged the young girl to be his wife. All the townspeople snickered behind the older man’s back for marrying the local whore, who was young enough to be his daughter, but they never made fun of him to his face.
