Suzy Richards walked along, her blue eyes glancing all around.
Carnivals had always fascinated her ever since she was a little girl. She loved the excitement of the crowd, the happiness of the carnival workers, the smell of peanuts and popcorn. She enjoyed riding on the various rides, watching the many wild animals, and trying her hand at the games of skill. But tonight she wasn’t here to have a good time; she was here on business.
“Around the corner, first trailer on your right,” answered the clown when Suzy asked him the location of the manager’s office.
“How do you do, sir,” said Suzy after knocking on the door and being told to enter. “My name is Suzy Richards and I’m looking for a job.”
The manager was sitting behind a large desk. He had a fat cigar in his mouth, a pencil behind his ear, and a magazine in his hands. His hair was dark I and wavy, his face attractive, his build, tall and muscular. Not bad, thought Suzy. His mouth fell open when he saw the girl, but his teeth held the cigar in place.
