That brought her father up short. He spun and almost rushed her.
“He didn’t promise me anything!” he snarled, grabbing her by the wrist. “You listen to me, girl, you’ve been spoiled out of your mind, and, when I ask you to do this one thing for me, with all those advantages, you turn it down. You’re-“
“You’re fucking business is going under!” Belinda sneered. “I marry him and you get off the hook. No fuckin’ deal, Dad.”
