It was Henry David Thoreau in Walden, who remarked, “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation.” This statement appears to be just as true today as it was then. Perhaps it is even more valid today considering the pressures and frequent monotony of today’s world.
The majority of today’s men and women live in boring circumstances, and when the opportunity for change arises, they are often quick to seize the chance. For the characters in this story, the opportunity is one which many would consider perverse and deranged. But it provides a release and a need. All morals and scruples are cast aside in a moment of madness—a chance to grab pleasure before it is taken away.

Phil Sharkle liked to call himself “The Shark.” He liked the name because, among other things, he thought of himself as a shark that swam constantly, forever looking for food. And food for Shark wasn’t fish—it was women. Tall ones. Short ones. Those with big tits and those with hardly any tits at all. He loved them, sometimes hated them, but he always fucked them.
A self-made millionaire, Shark had transformed a decaying apartment complex into a condominium complex for middle and upper-middle-class families. This had not only made him wealthy, but it had served to nurture his greatest fetish: voyeurism.
During the renovation process, when the building was being changed to condominiums, Shark had invested a small fortune in video cameras and recording equipment. So, once all the work was finished, he had nearly a hundred cameras constantly, secretly, surveying nearly every individual room in the building. All the cameras were connected to a giant switchboard in his apartment in the basement. With the aid of one-way mirrors, he could watch the tenants fucking and sucking and even record the action.
