Even a mother isn’t safe.

Daily the streets roil with thousands of persons, some good, some evil. The Mother Snatchers is a story about the evil elements. It is a story which threatens the home front and the mothers who guard it.

It is a story boldly told and cautioning: BEWARE! to the dissatisfied mother seeking a night out on the town.

In the case of Faye Davis, the main character in The Mother Snatchers, her night on the town turned into a tunnel of horror and sexual nightmares. Her release from the humdrum existence of a housewife became the most lewd memory she ever had.

Yet, her experience wasn’t so much her fault as it was the fault of society for breeding the kind of persons who abducted and used her in the vilest ways thinkable.

The woman looked nervous as she came into the lobby. She was carrying a small overnight case and she paused to glance uneasily around the tired room. It was not a sight to inspire confidence.

Several worn couches and a half-dozen sagging easy chairs bore silent witness to the neglect and abuse of what was once a fine old hotel. The yellowed parchment lamps and the threadbare carpet were the type popular at the turn of the century. Seeing the room empty, she seemed somewhat relieved as she searched for the desk and started for it.

From the small office behind the reception counter, two men watched her closely.

“What do you think?” the older man asked.

“Looks good to me,” the desk clerk whispered in reply.

“Obviously running from someone but she isn’t accustomed to running.” The old man squinted with an appraising eye as he spoke.

“Probably a spat with her husband. Not the usual run we get here, though.” The clerk nodded. “She’s older. Early thirties, you think? Sure is a nice looking woman though. Doesn’t seem conscious of her looks either.”
