A marriage falls into a slump. There are two things the partners can do. They can go out and sue for divorce. Or they can try to work it out, seek counseling, establish a new rapport with their mate, find an outside interest to change their outlook.
A frequent failing with tottering marriages is the boredom of the partners. Without their even realizing it, their lives slip into a rut. The same old routine. The same old conversation. The same old sex. Short temper or disgust with a mate often conceals a secret hope that the other one will choose to break the cycle. Will take on the onus of “guilty party” and break free.
WIFE ON THE LOOSE is the story of Heather and Tom, an average couple in an average neighborhood. They are bored with each other. Their sex life is unsatisfactory. They are unable to do anything about it.
The young wife takes it upon herself to change her own inadequate existence. She is risking disaster. She is risking abandonment by her husband. But the situation has gone far enough that she has no choice. She needs a change. She needs something to restore her enthusiasm for living, before she slips into the ranks of the barely living.
The choice she makes is a drastic one. She becomes totally involved in a new and engrossing way of life. She becomes sexually promiscuous.
The day her husband finds out is inevitable. His reaction is a surprising one. As this provocative tale unfolds, it becomes more and more evident that Heather’s choice may have been the right one… for everyone concerned.
