Sue Barker knew her father liked to spank her. Of course he’d never admit it to anyone, but Sue could tell. And secretly, she enjoyed it, too. One evening, when the two of them were alone, Sue decided to see what would happen if she pushed things further than usual.

It started when, out of boredom, she deliberately misbehaved. Sue was a well-developed teenager, but not so far out of childhood that she had any trouble acting like a brat.
Chewing on a wad of gum, she blew a huge bubble and let it pop. When her father tried to ignore her, she blew an even bigger bubble. When this one collapsed, it spread all over her face in a sticky mess. Picking the gum off her features and out of her hair, she noisily giggled.
“Do you have to do that?” Marv Barker snapped at his daughter, looking up from the book he was reading.
“I’m not bothering anybody,” Sue sassed, playing with a pink strand of gum which dangled from her mouth. “I can chew gum in my own house if I want to. It’s a free country.”
