One of mankind’s most basic, most important institutions is marriage.

The malaise chiefly affects couples in their late twenties and early thirties, products of the post-World War II baby boom, growing up during the Korean War and the dozen years of involvement in Vietnam, their disintegrating relationship a reflection of unstable times.
